My Sylvanian Chronicles

Hello there! Have you been wondering what happened next with my Sylvanians? Well, you remember that they had to come up with a plan to trap the intruder that Mrs Owl photographed right! After whispering a long time about it, they decided they needed to find a way to catch the thief when he or she came during the night. But how could they do that without being seen? It is not easy to hide from someone when you don't know where they're coming from!

The Sylvanians decided they needed the help of their friends the Fairies! Mr Owl flew to the Enchanted Forest to look for them and ask them if they could have a meeting. Of course the Fairies said yes, because they are very nice and also they think the Sylvanians are very cute.

On the day of the meeting, Mr Walnut Cat, Mr Reindeer, Mr Polar Bear and Mr Owl travelled to the Enchanted Forest. It is quite a dangerous journey because the Forest is far away. There is a lot of climbing and walking to do. Of course, Mr Owl has an easy time of it.

When they finally reached the forest, some of the Fairies were already there waiting. In the picture you can see Rhoslyn with her butterfly, Odile with her magic wand, Hatshepsut with her cat Femi, and Faye with Brucie her fox, who is really a magical sprite.

After the Sylvanians explained everything, the Fairies thought about how they could help the Sylvanians hide. At last, Hatshepsut snapped her fingers. "You need to become invisible! Let us make you invisible!" she said.

"Of course!" said Odile. "Shall I turn you into air now?"

"No no!" said Mr Polar Bear, waving his paws in a panic. "We still have to do our chores and help the children. It will not be good if we are invisible then!"

"Yes, that is true," said Odile. "You need something to make you invisible when you want to be invisible".

"But not permanently!" said Mr Walnut Cat with some alarm.

"No no, of course not," Odile said hastily. She hadn't actually thought of that.

"It is simple," Hatshepsut said. "Brucie knows where to dig for the Gurgling Ginger roots. I will make a potion with it, that you can take to become invisible. When you want to become visible again, you just drink some hot chocolate with marshmallows".

"Does it taste good?" Mr Reindeer asked doubtfully.

"It tastes wonderful!" Hatshepsut said. "But even if it doesn't, you don't have much choice do you?"

Everyone agreed that this was true. So Faye and Brucie hurried off in search of the roots.

On the way, they were almost eaten by the Fearsome Hound of the West Highlands, but Faye offered him some chew toys and he let them pass.

Soon, Brucie had dug up enough of the roots and they brought them back to Hatshepsut. The Sylvanians watched with great interest as she mashed up the roots and added some of her own potion from a little black bottle in her dress pocket. She also added three hairs from Femi's tail. Femi was used to this sort of thing so he didn't mind. Then she said some magic words, and the whole thing poofed up in bright blue swirls with golden sparkles.

Odile used her magic wand to make all the sparkling swirls into a ball, and then squeezed it like juice into a flower cup Rhoslyn had. Carefully, Rhoslyn made a cover for it with another flower, and then she handed it to the Sylvanians.

"Just three teaspoons each," Hatshepsut said. "You will remain invisible until you drink your hot chocolate. Good luck!"

The Sylvanians thanked the Fairies for their help, and gave them some pies they had made and two new blankets they had woven for their treehouses. Stay tuned to find out what happens next!!

Behold, Underwater World!

Hi! Let me share with you another cool thing I got to do during this school holiday! Here are a few pictures of me and some of the wonderful creatures at Underwater World! It was fun. No, seriously, it was REALLY fun! Though I did feel bad for some of the animals who looked cramped up and unhappy. I am sure they prefer to be back out in the wild. I guess there are good and bad points about aquariums and zoos.

These are the big sea turtles. They were at least 65cm long. And, cool fact, these were the biggest turtles I had ever seen! 

This is the "touch pool". Here, you can put your hands in the pool and touch all the animals. The animals here included the bluespotted stingray, puffer fish (not the poisonous ones of course!!), archerfish (these spit out water to catch their insect prey), and sharks. This is me, touching a puffer fish. Isn't he cute!

And this is me, reaching my hand in to touch the stingray. They feel soft, cool and smooth. I liked them a lot, and before we left I spent at least 20 minutes just touching the stingrays. There was one in particular who kept swimming up to me! Maybe he liked me :)

TA-DA! The famous bluespotted stingray!

This gigantic stingray is from the "raypool", where there are tons of huge stingrays. 

These are the ever-so-cute garden eels! They slowly come out of the sand; sometimes, you can see just the top of their heads in the sand!

WOAH! Look at this huge fish! I think it had back or spine problems. Perhaps it should get its spine treated or loosened.

Here is a school of fish. They look luminous, especially their glowing purple eyes. Aren't they pretty!

Look at these big crabs! I never thought I would see them live in action (well, they were not really in action)! You can see these ones are almost bigger than my head. There was another one sitting behind in the dark who was much larger; he was a little creepy.

Look at this seahorse! It looks like a piece of kelp, doesn’t it? It does that to camouflage.

These last few pictures are from inside the Underwater World aquarium tunnel. It is such a cool aquarium. You can walk through it or ride on the travelator, and the water and fish are all around you. I like this part of the tunnel because the statues and pillars look like some mysterious ancient city that sank underwater -- like Atlantis! 

This picture really shows how old and mysterious the sea and its inhabitants are doesn't it! Do you know, many sea creatures go back millions of years! I hope you enjoyed my pictures. I will post up some little videos soon when I have time. See you again soon!

March Holidays: Sylvanians!

It's the March school holidays! I've been a bit too busy having fun to write often, but I wanted to share these pictures with you! They're from the Sylvanian Families show!! Look - there's Chocolate Rabbit waving to you!

During the show, kids went up on stage to play games, answer questions, and win prizes! The prizes were only colour pencils though. There was singing and dancing too. Here is a picture of two kids playing "Scissors, Paper, Stone" with the Sylvanians. 

Time to answer questions! That little girl was only two years old and couldn't understand what the man was saying. In the end he gave her the colour pencils anyway.

Yippee! This is always my favourite part - taking pictures! Of course, I always let my little sister pick who she wants to stand with during Meet And Greets. Don't the Sylvanians look enormous!

I also won this in a lucky draw! It's a garden set. My sister has already used some of the things in her new front yard, like the bench and flowers. I love the little rabbit topiary; it's so cute!

Sylvanian Chronicles

Hi there! Today I am writing about my sister's Sylvanian house! Remember I told you her house is right at the end of our Sylvanian village? It is really right at the last part of our chest of drawers. She had about 5cm of space outside her house to play with her Sylvanians and so every other day she would be knocking someone over.

Well my Mom felt bad for the Sylvanians who kept hurting themselves falling so far. Also she was worried about our dog eating them and dying. So she decided to make my sister a front yard for her house! She made the yard out of a box. She made a fence for it too, so that my sister's Sylvanians can sit in the garden and chat and play and ride their bicycles without falling off a cliff.

The first two pictures show the new yard without anything in it. My Mom made it to fit on the drawers and stop just before our room door. You can see how it sticks out past the drawers right? My sister now has about 15cm extra space! There is a part of the yard that goes round the side of the house too.

The bottom pictures show everybody enjoying themselves in their new yard. I'm so jealous! No, just kidding! See you soon!

Hair!

Hi there! I just wanted to show you the bun my Mom did for ballet today. Isn't it perfect? I shall have to tie a super neat bun like this for my ballet exam. It's coming up in just a couple of weeks! See you soon!

Ming!

Hi there! Remember my cat Sophie? Well now let me introduce you to another of my cats -- Ming Ming! He is a Ragamuffin cat and he is about as big as Sophie. He is quite fat and heavy. His fur is very thick and soft, but it does not get matted very easily. People always notice his bright blue eyes.

Ming is a very quiet cat, you almost never hear him meow. He is also very very easygoing. I don't think he is really friendly unless he knows you well, but he is very relaxed. You will often find him lazing about, lying completely flat on his back on the sofa or on the bed or the floor. In this picture, he is sitting on top of that cardboard cat house my Mom made.

Ming is a little bit older than Sophie. They play together a lot. My Mom rescued him when he was a little kitten. He was just sitting all alone in the rain and his white fur was all wet and dirty. He is very close to my Mom and follows her around the house like a dog. Sometimes he'll climb up right in front of her on her computer keyboard to get her attention!

My Sister the Vampire

Hi there everyone! How have you been? No, my sister is not a vampire, at least I don't think so haha... that would be quite cool though. This is a picture of me with my new, favourite book -- My Sister the Vampire by Sienna Mercer. It is the story of two girls named Olivia Abbott and Ivy Vega. Olivia moves to Franklin Grove and makes friends at her new school with Ivy. After awhile, the girls discover they are actually long-lost identical twins! Olivia is a sporty cheerleader, and Ivy is a Goth who dresses all in black and wears lots of black eyeliner. The girls start to learn more about each other and then Olivia learns something amazing about her sister and Franklin Grove!

My Sylvanian Chronicles

The whole Sylvanian village is in a tizzy! Mrs Owl was flying over to her usual spot at the barbeque pit when she caught sight of something that made her feathers stand on end. Luckily, she had her camera with her in her handbag, because ladies always carry everything they need in their handbags. This was what she took:

Of course Mr Owl, Mrs Honeyfox and Mrs Polar Bear jumped up when they saw Mrs Owl pointing like mad with her wings. But whatever it was had vanished! Mrs Honeyfox shuddered to think of how close the babies had been to danger, but then she remembered that you can be quite safe when you have an owl and a polar bear with you. Everyone was sure this was the person from the Outside World who had been stealing the Sylvanians' pies!

The grown-ups got together to discuss what they should do next:

Mrs Squirrel, Mrs Fox, Mrs Chihuahua and Mrs Raccoon: Oh my, oh dear me, to think of such a thing, I need more tea! etc etc

Mr Siamese Cat: We must think of a plan to trap this thief! Mrs Labrador's milk bone pies were stolen last night and they weren't even baked yet! We can see from Mrs Owl's picture that whoever it is is quite big, and certainly not a Sylvanian. Was he trying to steal our TV do you think?

Mr Charcoal Cat: Goodness, I hope not! Listen, I think it's best that we whisper whisper whisper whisper...

Hi there!!!

How have you been?? I know, I have not been writing in my blog. Since school has started, I have been really quite busy! We have lots more homework now, and when I am free I rush out cycling or scootering! But I have a little free time now, so I shall share what has been happening with my Sylvanians.

Here is a close-up shot of my Sylvanians' kitchen and washing room. I set up this room such that when they are doing their chores, they can chat to each other at the same time! Here you can see Mrs Otter in the kitchen washing up. She has just taken that delicious cheese-baked shrimp pie out of the oven. She is chatting with Mrs White Mouse, who is doing the laundry. You can see the ironing board, and the toilet, and a bit of the bathtub behind her. The sink and counter where the Sylvanians brush their teeth and groom themselves is also in this room.

This is a picture of one of my newest Sylvanians -- Mrs Roo! She is carrying her baby in her apron pocket -- isn't she cute? Today Mrs Roo is looking for some baby books to read to baby Iris. They are on the first floor of the school, which my Mom built for me. On sunny days, the light comes in through the big windows and is perfect for reading. Iris says she wants to look at the picture book on gorillas.

Here you can see what I've done with the top floor of the house on the very right. It used to just be a bedroom with beds. Now I've made it a sick bay for Sylvanians who aren't feeling well. Today, Mrs Chihuahua and Kitty Chihuahua are visitng Kitty's brother Emory. He had had a bout of doggie pox, but is much better now. Unfortunately, Rudolph Reindeer had food poisoning from eating grape salad that had gone bad. Rudolph can never quite tell when something has gone bad, especially when there's yogurt in it. But don't worry, Rudolph will be fine soon, and Mr Reindeer is keeping him company so he doesn't feel too sad in the meantime.

Now let's take a quick look at what's happening in the courtyard. As you can see, some of the grown-ups have gotten together to talk and have tea. Mrs Badger is telling them about how all her mince pies -- at least ten of them! -- went missing during the night. This is a very serious matter, because the kids need their food for breakfast and lunch, and also, no one likes to have their things stolen. The grown-ups are worried because this is not the first time it has happened. Mrs Polar Bear's fish pies went missing the night before, and Mrs Honeyfox's raspberry pies went missing last week. The grown-ups know that no one in their village would do something like that, so it must be someone from the Outside World. They are coming up with ideas on how to trap the thief. Obviously, it is someone who likes pies a lot, because whoever it is never touches the stew or cake. Stay tuned to find out what happens next!

More Holiday Fun!

So today I decided to share with you some of the things I did toward the end of my Christmas holidays. First, as you can see, I helped put up the tree! This is my favourite part too. I love giving and getting Christmas presents, attending parties and changing the pattern of the Christmas lights!

Then there was this very exciting thing for me in the latest Sylvanian Families Collectors Club magazine! You may know I am a collector of the Sylvanian Families, which I have talked about in some of my earlier posts, the Sylvanian Chronicles. 

The Sylvanian Families Collectors Club sends members its club magazine four times a year. The magazines are really cute. They are full of Sylvanian stories, projects and contests. There is a section where they pick pictures of their members' collections. So we sent this photo of me, my sister and of course, our Sylvanians! When the next issue came out, my picture was there! I was so excited -- most of the members are from the UK, so I felt very happy to be included.

As you can see, the picture was from some time ago, so you can see that quite a few things were not there yet, like the school's second storey, or my sister's collection.

During the holidays, I also learnt to bake cookies with my Mom! It was lots of fun. My favourite part was rolling the dough into the cookie shapes. Here you can see me putting the unbaked cookies into the fridge to chill and harden a bit. The cookies here are called "thumbprint cookies" because you make that hole in the middle with your thumb. Halfway through the baking, my Mom spoons jam into each of the centres.

The other cookies my Mom taught me to make were round ones covered with colourful sugar sprinkles called nonpareils. They tasted awesome right out of the oven! And if you are in my class at school, you might have tasted one yourself! There are still a few left, so let me know if you want more!

Another Big Holiday Adventure!

Hi there! Did you miss me? I've been having a super December vacation! Here are just a few of the things I've been doing!


Shopping! We got some cool books from Kinokuniya, one of my favourite stores. Here I am in front of a store named Shanghai Tang (we did not get anything here -- would you?)!


Watching the Angry Birds show! As you can see, my sister got tired waiting for the show to start. When it did start, she fell asleep on my lap. Those are her sneakers sticking out there.


Writing my wishes for the new year! These balls will be launched into the bay during the New Year countdown I think. I'm not sure what the point is, but it's fun to write down my hopes and dreams! My wish was: I wish everyone was happy and had a good new year!


Watching the Mr Moon musical! After the musical, people who had come early enough were allowed to take pictures with Mr Moon, Gold Star, Silva and Sunny. My sister and I both like Sunny best.


Checking out the huge Sylvanian Families house! I collect Sylvanians, if you don't know. I have a few more posts on Sylvanians and my collection.


Playing in the fountain! This was one of my favourite parts of my holiday. It was a little scary at first, but after awhile my sister and I were having a great time. I got really soaked!

So what have you been doing with your Christmas holidays? Have you put up your tree yet? I've sure been having a great time -- I'm not really looking forward to going back to school! Well, there's still a few more weeks to go till then, and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it!

Hello! My December holidays has started! This is a little video of our choir doing our sound check. Today I also wanted to share with you a song I wrote myself! I like to sing to God -- you can sing it too!

My Big Choir Performance

Hi! Today I will share with you my big choir performance. It was our choir's Advent Musical! Here I am in the middle of the sound check. We always have sound checks before service to test the sound equipment and practice a little. 

In our Advent musical we had to sing tons of hymns and carols. The story we were acting out was the birth of the baby Jesus! As you can see, I played the part of an angel. The angels announce the birth of baby Jesus to the shepherds. I had to wear a long white tunic, a halo on my head, and wings on my back! During the performances, we had to go barefoot.



Here I am again next to our church photographer. I was looking at the pictures he had taken of the choir, and I saw the ones with me in it! But the pictures in this post are from my Mom's camera. Here you can see a bit of my wings. The halo looks like it's sort of floating above my head, doesn't it? It used to be on a white hairband, but my Mom painted everyone's hairband black so it would blend in nicely with our hair.



Here I am shown posing for Mom's camera. I am kneeling next to the three prop sheep. Did you know the sheep are made of toilet paper with googly eyes?
I had a great time even though it was quite exhausting!
