Sojourn!

Hello everybody!! How have you been? As you can guess, we've been busy here with Baby Jacob. He is sooooooooo cute and getting bigger and stronger every day. If you don't know, I've been guest blogging a bit at Bikbik & Roro -- go check it out!

Today I thought I would quickly share with you a little movie my Mom made! My grandma came over one day and helped look after Jakey, so Mommy quickly took advantage of that free time to do it! She says she is feeling quite "art-deprived", meaning she hasn't been able to do any art or crafting at all. She always has lots of creative ideas in her head, but usually not much time to work on them. So she was happy to be able to try this stop motion experiment when she had the chance! She had to rush though and says it was harder than she expected, but I still like it! "Sojourn" means to stay somewhere temporarily. This is a song Jacob listens to sometimes, hope you enjoy it too! Have a super lovely weekend!!

Sylvanian Famlies Shop!

Hello everybody! How have you been? I have been busy with my exams, but they're finally over now -- yay! Do you see what I got in the mail? Yes! The Sylvanian Families 2013 catalogue, all the way from London. As you may know, I am a Sylvanian Families Collectors Club member, so they send me these things every now and then. Let me share with you a bit of what's inside!

Wow, the Sylvanian Shop will be visiting Whitchurch in July! It looks like it will be so much fun. On the other page they tell you to make sure you buy your Pay & Display ticket on the same side of the road that you parked your car. I guess they don't have the stupid parking sensor things like here. Have you noticed how a lot of times the things don't "sense" your car? Usually when there's a whole bunch of cars waiting behind you. Then they get a man to stand next to the sensor to make it work, which seems even more dumb.

The catalogue is really quite thick, about 63 pages, with lots of pictures and info inside on everything you could possibly want from the Sylvanian Families. I recognise a lot of the things, but I think some of them are just not available in Singapore -- like this adorable sailor Rabbit family. Aren't they cute?? Lucky British kids!

I'd love to have this house!

 And this candy floss cart!

And this fish & chips van! I love fish & chips. The bear looks so cute in her uniform. It says her name is "Francesca the Fish Fryer".

The magazine also has little projects for you to try, like clay cakes and these fancy hats! I might ask my Mom to help me make these!

Also, there is some important information on how to clean your Sylvanians. Have you ever taken their clothes off? They look so cute naked haha. The magazine says you should not use any water on your Sylvanians, and to brush them very gently or their fur will come off.

OK, I'm going to go practise on my piano now! See you again real soon!

Goodbye

Hello. I am very sad. Scriggle and Shake have passed away. That's why I made this little movie for them, to always remember them. I would like to thank the Sylvanians for caring so much and being part of this. Please pray for them, though I am sure they are fine somewhere in Heaven. I think that Wiggle must be very lonely now, but I think he is adjusting. Bye bye Scriggle and Shake.

Here's Wiggle. I hope he is fine. He is eating dried apples and wholewheat bread. By himself.

Fruit or Vegetable?

013013 163a
Here's Molly Mouse and Harland Sheepdog having their breakfast! Molly is telling Harland about the homework she got back from Mrs Roo yesterday. Their class has been studying food groups, she explained, and she had classified tomatoes as a "vegetable" and not a "fruit".

"I don't know why Mrs Roo said it was wrong," Molly told Harland sadly.

"Well, did she explain to you all what exactly a fruit is, and what exactly a vegetable is?" asked Harland.

"No..." Molly replied slowly.

"Then how would you know?" Harland asked.

"I don't know! Maybe it's something we're supposed to just know in our hearts!" Molly said.

"That's just silly," Harland said. "First, you have to know what makes a fruit a fruit, and what makes a vegetable a vegetable. But I can tell you why tomatoes are fruits and not vegetables. My Daddy helps take care of the garden and he knows all about it. He told me that if it has seeds, then it is a fruit. So, tomatoes are fruits. That also makes things like cucumbers, peppers and squash fruit. Of course, we also eat other parts of the plant, like the leaves or stems; those are vegetables".

"But you know," Harland continued, "My Daddy told me that the Supreme Court in a faraway country called the United States ruled that the tomato is a vegetable. They said that only if it was eaten in hand or in a dessert could it be classified as a fruit. Consumers think of tomatoes as vegetables, and that is how they should be legally defined".

"Ooh, you're really smart!" Molly said, impressed. "Thank you for explaining to me! Although I think then that a tomato could be a fruit or a vegetable, depending on if you were talking to a botanist or a chef!"

"You're right!" Harland said, and they both laughed and ate their tomato salad.

My Sylvanian Chronicles

Hello everybody!!! How have you been?? I know, it's been awhile hasn't it! Happy new year!!! I've been so busy, first with the school holidays, and now with school! I'm in a higher grade now, and I have new teachers, classmates and subjects. My days start very early now and then when I get home, I do my homework and play with my sister, or go for ballet, or practice the piano, or meet up with my friends -- so you see I have lots to do.

I have been thinking of my Sylvanians and their adventures though, so I decided to quickly write the next chapter of their story now! Remember what happened last time? If you can't you can find it here.

There was a lot of excitement because at last the Sylvanians had caught the intruder! It was a big orange cat from the Outside World! Everyone noticed that the orange cat was shivering. It did not look well or happy. Mr Owl went to get Matron from the sick bay just in case it fainted or something.
  cat1a

Everyone let Mr Walnut Cat speak to it, because after all, he is also a cat. "We have caught you at last," he said sternly. It was the voice he always used when he was scolding the kids, which they hated. "You have been stealing our food and doing goodness knows what else. That is very naughty indeed. But now that we've caught you, you had better tell us who you are".
  cat2a

And this was what the orange cat did when it heard Mr Walnut Cat's scoldy voice. Immediately, everyone went "Awww". Matron said, "Poor thing, you're shivering with cold and you look very hungry. I think you have a bit of a temperature too. Come to the sick bay and rest. You can have some cookies and hot chocolate and in the morning when you feel better you can tell us all about yourself".
  cat3a

So everyone led the orange cat up to the sick bay. Only Hester Honeyfox was there and she was already asleep. She had been having her usual sniffly nose from smelling too many flowers. Mr Owl said he would stay up with Matron to watch the orange cat since he usually didn't sleep at night anyway. Matron was glad to have him around to chat to. Staying up alone all night could be pretty boring.

They gave the orange cat some hot chocolate and put it to bed. It seemed to be really exhausted by everything that had happened, and did not even want any cookies. It lay down in bed with a grateful sigh and was soon purring in its sleep. "The poor thing is worn out," whispered Matron to Mr Owl. "What an interesting life it must lead". Mr Owl nodded and stared at the cat in that way owls do. "I wonder what we'll find out tomorrow!" he said.

What do you think is in store for the Sylvanians and their strange intruder? Stay tuned to find out!

P.S. I've put all the chapters of this story together here in case you missed any part! Ch 1, Ch 2, Ch 3, Ch 4. See you again soon!

My Sylvanian Movie!

My Mom made this movie for me! She was experimenting with stop motion animation for the past few days, and this is her second experiment. Isn't it cute!! And you can learn stuff too. I hope you enjoy it, see you soon!

My Sylvanian Chronicles

Hello everybody! How have you been? Let's see what's happening out at the Sylvanian school patio!

062912 092

Today Mrs Seadog is taking the patio class. She is giving Lucy Polar Bear, Harland Sheepdog, Hester Honeyfox and Felix Renard extra tuition in fractions (Harland has gone over to Mrs Beagle's class just to listen to Ellis Elephant's presentation on yogurt. He still can't believe it is made with bacteria).

Mrs Seadog says that the word "fractions" comes from the Latin word "fractus", which means "broken". The kids were confused about all the different types of fractions and Mrs Seadog is trying to explain. She always uses the example of a pizza.

062912 099

Here you can see the kids! Hester Honeyfox is starting to think she understands what a denominator is. Felix Renard is thinking that since he broke his arm last month, it is still only a fraction of how strong it used to be. Lucy Polar Bear is raising her paw to ask Mrs Seadog to use cakes to explain what mixed fractions are. Harland Sheepdog is thinking she should use real cakes.

062912 095

Here are Jemima Kangaroo and Iris Smoky Cat having their late morning snack. They had had chess practice early in the morning and hadn't had time for breakfast (and you know breakfast is the most important meal of the day!). Iris is saying, "It's true, 'gnu' is pronounce 'noo'!" and Jemima is saying, "Really! I wonder what they have the 'g' there for then".

Tune in next time for the next part of my Sylvanian story!

My Sylvanian Chronicles

070812 002 blog

Let's see what's happening up on the roof garden today! As you can see, the Sylvanian mommies are having a nice chat while looking after the babies. Mrs Reindeer was just explaining that reindeer are sometimes carnivorous. She said she had tried lemming and fish pie before, which her cousin in Norway had sent her. She said it was quite good.

Mrs Siamese Cat is agreeing enthusiastically. She is trying to get baby Ella to nap. Mrs Kangaroo is looking a little anxious because she thinks her joey is about the size of a lemming. But the Sylvanians really do try not to eat each other. In the background you can see Mr Owl giving Melody Monkey her piano lesson. She has not been practising, so Mr Owl is saying "No dessert for you!"

070812 005 blog

Here at the trellis wall Nora Raccoon and Lulu Deer are having tea. Lulu is describing the Kids' Club marshmallow eating contest which she hopes to win. Earlier, she had told Nora that deer have a special stomach that lets them eat poison ivy. She think she might do well at the marshmallow eating contest because of her four-chambered stomach which helps her eat things quickly. Nora Raccoon is saying she hates the green-coloured marshmallows.

See you again soon!

Roof garden!

Hi there! Today I decided to write about my roof garden! My Mom actually made it for me about two months ago, but I was too busy to post about it then. Let me share my pictures with you now!

garden5a

Here is a picture of the roof garden drying. My Mom protects it with lots of varnish. She made it to fit on top of Berry Grove school. You might know that that clock piece is right at the top of the school. My Mom had to cut holes exactly for the clock to go through. Did you know that it tells time properly? Yes, it works!

garden2a

This picture shows my roof garden furniture. You can see that I moved the nursery here, and then I added seats and things for the Sylvanians to sit and chat and have tea. My Sylvanians love dessert, so there's lots of fruit cake, cheesecake and pastries! There is a cream puff on the piano for Lolly Cat to snack on while having her lessons. The flowers here are very pretty and colourful.

garden9a

This is the part of the roof garden where the trellis wall is. There is a bench here and of course, more dessert! Doesn't that chocolate log cake look yummy? The Sylvanians are so lucky, they can have dessert any time they want.

garden7a

There's the blueberry cheesecake! Doesn't it look good?? You can see a bit of the inside of the baby playpen. It's so cute!

garden1a

Here is the roof garden on top of the school! My Mom had to build pillars in the room underneath to help hold it up because you know Berry Grove school doesn't actually have a roof. You can see one of the pillars beside the bed on the right, with the tulips in front of it. My Mom made it like a bookshelf! I made the old nursery a bedroom and so the kids can put their books and things there.

garden10a

And here is everyone in the roof garden! Margo Cat is playing with Baby Sheepdog while telling Mrs Deer about her prawn aquarium. Mr Owl is giving Lolly her piano lesson. Charlotte Elephant is showing Baby Ella how her trunk works. At the trellis wall, you can see Jasper Beagle and Drake Seadog talking about the scary goblin movie they watched last night. Baby Badger is thinking they are very, very, very high up.

garden4a

See you next time!

New patio!

Hello!!! How are you? Did you have a great school holiday like me? I had lots of fun, and one of the cool things was that we finally had our ballet concert which we had been rehearsing for. I will post a picture of me in my costume when I can. Now school has started -- waaah. But I have some free time now so I thought I would share with you the latest thing in my Sylvanian village!

xtra sch2a

It is the new school patio which my Mom made for me! It is connected to the third floor of the school building which you can see is the second building from the left here. The patio is 31cm by 10cm, so it is quite a bit of extra space! It extends high over the courtyard, so my Mom built a fence for it so no one would fall and get hurt. The floor of the patio is covered with big pink peonies.

I decided to use my new patio as a place where the Sylvanian kids could go for extra tuition and have a snack if they didn't have time in the morning. Half the patio has desks and chairs, and the other half has a little table for meals. Here you can see Felix Renard and Ernest Polar Bear having their brunch. They are having eggs, sausages and hot chocolate. Felix Renard is describing his latest invention: a machine that helps antiques talk about where they came from and how they were used. There is also custard and spaghetti if anyone else is hungry.

xtra school1a

Today Mrs Beagle is taking the extra class. The Sylvanian kids wanted some extra coaching in the process of mummification. Mrs Beagle is explaining how you have to take out the brains through the nose with a large hook. After washing the body and covering it with salts, you leave it to dry for 40 days.

Lulu Deer is fascinated, but for some reason she can't help looking at her tomato pudding. Drake Seadog is wondering if he can mummify the leftover fish from dinner last night. Franklin Bear is thinking his toast already looks mummified.

Bye till the next post!

My Sylvanian Chronicles

Hello! How are you? Have you been busy with school and games and going places? I have been quite busy doing all those things! But now I have some time to write the next chapter of my Sylvanian Chronicle story!

Do you remember what happened in the last chapter? Go read it if you've forgotten, but I hope you didn't!

mtg3a

After meeting with the fairies and getting the special Invisibility potion, the Sylvanians went home to their village. Everyone in the village was very excited to see them, but Mr Owl reminded them that they had to whisper because they didn't know where the thief was and if he or she was listening. After a lot of talking in the bathroom, Mr Pete Postman, Mr Sheep and Mr Rabbit said they were willing to take the potion and wait that night for the thief. Mr Owl and Mr Walnut Cat were still a little tired from their long journey, but they wanted to take part too.

After dinner that evening, Mr Postman, Mr Sheep, Mr Rabbit, Mr Owl and Mr Walnut Cat put their hot chocolate water bottles in their pockets, and each took three teaspoons of the magic potion. It tasted very good, just like Hatshepsut had said it would. It tasted like whatever happened to be the drinker's favourite food.

Mr Postman said the potion tasted like blackberry pie covered in honey. Mr Sheep said it tasted like grass pudding with alfalfa hay topping. Mr Rabbit said it tasted like grape and muesli salad. Mr Walnut Cat said it tasted just like salmon-and-cheese pie. Mr Owl said it tasted like a combination of small rodents, but everyone told him to be quiet.

As soon as the flavours disappeared from their tongues, the four Sylvanians started fading like mist until they completely vanished. They couldn't even see each other! They kept bumping into each other until Mr Sheep whispered that they should form a conga line till they reached the courtyard.

So Mr Postman held on to Mr Sheep's shoulders, Mr Rabbit held on to Mr Postman's shoulders, and Mr Walnut Cat held onto his shoulders, while Mr Owl perched on Mr Walnut Cat's arm. Mr Sheep kept wanting to do the three shuffle steps of the conga dance, but Mr Walnut Cat said now was not the time.

When they reached the courtyard, they let go of each other and went to the spots they had said they would wait. You can see the courtyard is dark and looks empty, but it's not! Mr Rabbit waited at the stew counter, Mr Sheep waited by the babies' train, and Mr Postman and Mr Walnut Cat waited on the chairs. Mr Owl said he would wait on the food trays and Mr Rabbit said they'd better disinfect them before lunch.

sylv nite1a

The five of them waited for a long time. They heard the school clock chime midnight, then one o'clock. They had never stayed up so late before! All the other Sylvanians had already gone to bed because everyone knows you need a good night's sleep, at least eight hours.

Then suddenly, right after the clock chimed two, there came a little slithering sound from the top of Babblebrook Grange. It slid all the way down the side of the house and plopped right into the middle of the courtyard. The sound was very small and gentle, like a soft pillow. But it was too dark for the waiting Sylvanians to see clearly who was making the sound. They waited with bated breath!

Suddenly, the sound went to the courtyard fountain, and turned it on! And there, by the rainbow lights of the fountain, the Sylvanians saw the intruder!

sylv nite2a

Quick as a wink, the waiting Sylvanians grabbed their water bottles and gulped down their hot chocolate. Immediately, they began to reappear like a mist until they were completely solid and visible again.

"You there! Halt!" called out Mr Walnut Cat in his fiercest voice, jumping up on his bench. "You are surrounded!" added Mr Owl, flapping his wings.

The intruder jumped, and turned around. The Sylvanians were so surprised! It was a big orange cat! Not a Sylvanian cat though, but a cat from the Outside World! It had large pointy ears and the biggest, greenest eyes the Sylvanians had ever seen. Mr Walnut Cat felt a little anxious. Would the strange cat pounce on him? Would he know the right cat dialect to speak? Was it shedding into the fountain?

sylv nite3a

Stay tuned to find out what happens next!

sylv nite6a

(And in this picture you can see that not all the Sylvanians went to bed on this exciting night!)

My Sylvanian Chronicles

Hello there! Have you been wondering what happened next with my Sylvanians? Well, you remember that they had to come up with a plan to trap the intruder that Mrs Owl photographed right! After whispering a long time about it, they decided they needed to find a way to catch the thief when he or she came during the night. But how could they do that without being seen? It is not easy to hide from someone when you don't know where they're coming from!

mtg1

The Sylvanians decided they needed the help of their friends the Fairies! Mr Owl flew to the Enchanted Forest to look for them and ask them if they could have a meeting. Of course the Fairies said yes, because they are very nice and also they think the Sylvanians are very cute.

On the day of the meeting, Mr Walnut Cat, Mr Reindeer, Mr Polar Bear and Mr Owl travelled to the Enchanted Forest. It is quite a dangerous journey because the Forest is far away. There is a lot of climbing and walking to do. Of course, Mr Owl has an easy time of it.

When they finally reached the forest, some of the Fairies were already there waiting. In the picture you can see Rhoslyn with her butterfly, Odile with her magic wand, Hatshepsut with her cat Femi, and Faye with Brucie her fox, who is really a magical sprite.

After the Sylvanians explained everything, the Fairies thought about how they could help the Sylvanians hide. At last, Hatshepsut snapped her fingers. "You need to become invisible! Let us make you invisible!" she said.

"Of course!" said Odile. "Shall I turn you into air now?"

"No no!" said Mr Polar Bear, waving his paws in a panic. "We still have to do our chores and help the children. It will not be good if we are invisible then!"

"Yes, that is true," said Odile. "You need something to make you invisible when you want to be invisible".

"But not permanently!" said Mr Walnut Cat with some alarm.

"No no, of course not," Odile said hastily. She hadn't actually thought of that.

"It is simple," Hatshepsut said. "Brucie knows where to dig for the Gurgling Ginger roots. I will make a potion with it, that you can take to become invisible. When you want to become visible again, you just drink some hot chocolate with marshmallows".

"Does it taste good?" Mr Reindeer asked doubtfully.

"It tastes wonderful!" Hatshepsut said. "But even if it doesn't, you don't have much choice do you?"

Everyone agreed that this was true. So Faye and Brucie hurried off in search of the roots.

mtg4

On the way, they were almost eaten by the Fearsome Hound of the West Highlands, but Faye offered him some chew toys and he let them pass.

Soon, Brucie had dug up enough of the roots and they brought them back to Hatshepsut. The Sylvanians watched with great interest as she mashed up the roots and added some of her own potion from a little black bottle in her dress pocket. She also added three hairs from Femi's tail. Femi was used to this sort of thing so he didn't mind. Then she said some magic words, and the whole thing poofed up in bright blue swirls with golden sparkles.

Odile used her magic wand to make all the sparkling swirls into a ball, and then squeezed it like juice into a flower cup Rhoslyn had. Carefully, Rhoslyn made a cover for it with another flower, and then she handed it to the Sylvanians.

"Just three teaspoons each," Hatshepsut said. "You will remain invisible until you drink your hot chocolate. Good luck!"

The Sylvanians thanked the Fairies for their help, and gave them some pies they had made and two new blankets they had woven for their treehouses. Stay tuned to find out what happens next!!

March Holidays: Sylvanians!

It's the March school holidays! I've been a bit too busy having fun to write often, but I wanted to share these pictures with you! They're from the Sylvanian Families show!! Look - there's Chocolate Rabbit waving to you!
031012a

During the show, kids went up on stage to play games, answer questions, and win prizes! The prizes were only colour pencils though. There was singing and dancing too. Here is a picture of two kids playing "Scissors, Paper, Stone" with the Sylvanians.
031012b

Time to answer questions! That little girl was only two years old and couldn't understand what the man was saying. In the end he gave her the colour pencils anyway.
031012c

Yippee! This is always my favourite part - taking pictures! Of course, I always let my little sister pick who she wants to stand with during Meet And Greets. Don't the Sylvanians look enormous!
Sylvanians

I also won this in a lucky draw! It's a garden set. My sister has already used some of the things in her new front yard, like the bench and flowers. I love the little rabbit topiary; it's so cute!

See you soon! Happy holidays!

Sylvanian Chronicles

Sylvanian front yard

Sylvanian front yard

front4a

Sylvanian front yard

Hi there! Today I am writing about my sister's Sylvanian house! Remember I told you her house is right at the end of our Sylvanian village? It is really right at the last part of our chest of drawers. She had about 5cm of space outside her house to play with her Sylvanians and so every other day she would be knocking someone over.

Well my Mom felt bad for the Sylvanians who kept hurting themselves falling so far. Also she was worried about our dog eating them and dying. So she decided to make my sister a front yard for her house! She made the yard out of a box. She made a fence for it too, so that my sister's Sylvanians can sit in the garden and chat and play and ride their bicycles without falling off a cliff.

The first two pictures show the new yard without anything in it. My Mom made it to fit on the drawers and stop just before our room door. You can see how it sticks out past the drawers right? My sister now has about 15cm extra space! There is a part of the yard that goes round the side of the house too.

The bottom pictures show everybody enjoying themselves in their new yard. I'm so jealous! No, just kidding! See you soon!

Wednesday, 15 February 2012

Hi there!!!

021612e1

How have you been?? I know, I have not been writing in my blog. Since school has started, I have been really quite busy! We have lots more homework now, and when I am free I rush out cycling or scootering! But I have a little free time now, so I shall share what has been happening with my Sylvanians.

021612a

Here is a close-up shot of my Sylvanians' kitchen and washing room. I set up this room such that when they are doing their chores, they can chat to each other at the same time! Here you can see Mrs Otter in the kitchen washing up. She has just taken that delicious cheese-baked shrimp pie out of the oven. She is chatting with Mrs White Mouse, who is doing the laundry. You can see the ironing board, and the toilet, and a bit of the bathtub behind her. The sink and counter where the Sylvanians brush their teeth and groom themselves is also in this room.

021612c

This is a picture of one of my newest Sylvanians -- Mrs Roo! She is carrying her baby in her apron pocket -- isn't she cute? Today Mrs Roo is looking for some baby books to read to baby Iris. They are on the first floor of the school, which my Mom built for me. On sunny days, the light comes in through the big windows and is perfect for reading. Iris says she wants to look at the picture book on gorillas.

021612b

Here you can see what I've done with the top floor of the house on the very right. It used to just be a bedroom with beds. Now I've made it a sick bay for Sylvanians who aren't feeling well. Today, Mrs Chihuahua and Kitty Chihuahua are visitng Kitty's brother Emory. He had had a bout of doggie pox, but is much better now. Unfortunately, Rudolph Reindeer had food poisoning from eating grape salad that had gone bad. Rudolph can never quite tell when something has gone bad, especially when there's yogurt in it. But don't worry, Rudolph will be fine soon, and Mr Reindeer is keeping him company so he doesn't feel too sad in the meantime.

021612d

Now let's take a quick look at what's happening in the courtyard. As you can see, some of the grown-ups have gotten together to talk and have tea. Mrs Badger is telling them about how all her mince pies -- at least ten of them! -- went missing during the night. This is a very serious matter, because the kids need their food for breakfast and lunch, and also, no one likes to have their things stolen. The grown-ups are worried because this is not the first time it has happened. Mrs Polar Bear's fish pies went missing the night before, and Mrs Honeyfox's raspberry pies went missing last week. The grown-ups know that no one in their village would do something like that, so it must be someone from the Outside World. They are coming up with ideas on how to trap the thief. Obviously, it is someone who likes pies a lot, because whoever it is never touches the stew or cake. Stay tuned to find out what happens next!

More Holiday Fun!

trees

So today I decided to share with you some of the things I did toward the end of my Christmas holidays. First, as you can see, I helped put up the tree! This is my favourite part too. I love giving and getting Christmas presents, attending parties and changing the pattern of the Christmas lights!

sylv mag1

Then there was this very exciting thing for me in the latest Sylvanian Families Collectors Club magazine! You may know I am a collector of the Sylvanian Families, which I have talked about in some of my earlier posts, the Sylvanian Chronicles

The Sylvanian Families Collectors Club sends members its club magazine four times a year. The magazines are really cute. They are full of Sylvanian stories, projects and contests. There is a section where they pick pictures of their members' collections. So we sent this photo of me, my sister and of course, our Sylvanians! When the next issue came out, my picture was there! I was so excited -- most of the members are from the UK, so I felt very happy to be included.

As you can see, the picture was from some time ago, so you can see that quite a few things were not there yet, like the school's second storey, or my sister's collection.

sylv mag2

This is the cover of the magazine.

cookies

During the holidays, I also learnt to bake cookies with my Mom! It was lots of fun. My favourite part was rolling the dough into the cookie shapes. Here you can see me putting the unbaked cookies into the fridge to chill and harden a bit. The cookies here are called "thumbprint cookies" because you make that hole in the middle with your thumb. Halfway through the baking, my Mom spoons jam into each of the centres.

The other cookies my Mom taught me to make were round ones covered with colourful sugar sprinkles called nonpareils. They tasted awesome right out of the oven! And if you are in my class at school, you might have tasted one yourself! There are still a few left, so let me know if you want more!

See you super-soon!
